Getting Books Fast

Checklist for Getting Books Fast

1. Check Furman's catalog to see if we have the book available locally

Search Furman Library Catalog

2. Check PASCAL to see if the book is available through a partner library

3. If the book is not available locally, use ILLIAD to request the book from the broader community

Note: This will take longer than a PASCAL request.

PASCAL Service Overview

PASCAL (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries) is the fastest way for Furman students, faculty and staff to borrow books.
PASCAL services include:

PASCAL Delivers - Courier service between Furman and other SC academic libraries Mondays through Fridays.

PASCAL Visiting Patron -  When you don't have time to wait for the courier, take your Palacard to a nearby PASCAL library and checkout up to 3 books for 3 weeks, with a single renewal period of 3 more weeks. Books borrowed from other PASCAL libraries may be returned at the Furman library.

PASCAL PickUp Anywhere (PUA) - Pickup your books at any other PASCAL library.
