The Duke Library and Music Library offer over 25 group study rooms that can accommodate 1-6 people each. Priority is given to Furman students, but Furman faculty and staff may also use the rooms. Each study room includes electrical and network connections and, in some cases, whiteboards.
Most study rooms are available on a first-come first-served basis. Six group study rooms on the first floor of the Duke Library Rooms, and 4 Scholar Study Rooms for individual use on the ground floor of the Duke Library are available for reservation.
Room Capacities: 1-4 people
The Audio Recording Studio is a sound-insulated room located on the lower level of the Duke Library near the Information Technology Service Center. The room is equipped with microphone, laptop computer with Camtasia and Audacity installed. Furman students, staff, and/or faculty may reserve the studio for up to 4 hours per week with reservations made no more than two weeks in advance. This room is managed by the IT Service Center.

The Media Viewing Room provides technology to watch films and other media stored on physical formats like DVDs and VHS. The Media Viewing Room is located on the lower level of the Duke Library near the Information Technology Service Center. The room is equipped with a DVD player, TV, and video cassette player. Furman students, staff, and/or faculty may reserve the room for up to 4 hours per week with reservations made no more than two weeks in advance. This room is managed by the IT Service Center.

The Duke Library has 2 Scholar Study Rooms that are reserved for specific faculty members. These faculty must apply at the beginning of each academic year and are assigned rooms by the Director of Libraries, in consultation with the Libraries and Information Technology Committee.
Faculty who need a study space, but are not approved to use these rooms, are welcome to reserve other Group Study Rooms in the Duke Library (see options above).
