The letters addressed to Rev. Basil Manly (1798-1868) were separated from the Basil Manly, Sr. Family Papers at an unknown point in time. The letters were written during the time that Rev. Fuller was pastor of the Baptist Church in Beaufort and Rev. Manly was pastor at First Baptist Church of Charleston (1826 to 1837). Fuller discusses his health, church business and requests Manly’s opinion regarding various issues. The Furman Academy is mentioned.
