Arrangement

This collection is arranged in the order that it was found; Ancient Architecture (Italy, Greece, Egypt, Spain), Peru, Brazil and Mexico.

Scope and Contents

The collection contains fifty-eight mounted sepia photographs signed and described by Gregory. The majority of the photographs are architecture-related, including buildings, temples and roadways, with a few including people. A few of the photographs are dated 1960, but the majority are undated. The photographs were probably taken during Gregory’s travels throughout the Mediterranean basin during the early 1960s [The Greenville News, August 13, 1961, p. 6.]

One mounted black and white photograph was found behind a workstation in the Special Collections workroom in 2018. The image is a portrait of a man wearing a hat. There is no identifying information. This photograph was added to this collection because of the identical mounting.
