Scope and Contents

The Bennette E. Geer Papers consist of correspondence, faculty minutes and reports; financial records and committee reports. The bulk of this collection falls within the years of Geer’s presidency from 1933 to 1938. The correspondence covers subjects such as adult education, the Duke Endowment, the Board of Trustees Executive Committee, faculty, funds, aid and scholarships, the law library, the library, student activities, and student records, in addition to other subject matters. The Inauguration folder contains well wishes, with one letter from the then oldest Furman alumna, class of 1867.
