Scope and Contents

This collection was put together during Duncan McArthur’s time on the Faculty-Administration Liaison Committee. He served as chair of the committee from 1978 to 1979, and then again from 1983 to 1986. This committee was originally the President’s Advisory Council under President Blackwell, before being repurposed into the Faculty Administration Liaison Committee. The committee experienced periods of inactivity until the Presidency of Dr. John E. Johns. Upon his assuming leadership, he expressed interest in the Committee. The purpose of the committee turned toward offering the new President guidance on Faculty morale and fostering communication between faculty and administration. During the early years of the committee, the minutes were not recorded formally, due to confidentiality. Instead, agenda notes and meeting summaries were kept by the Chair. This collection includes agendas, meeting summaries, memos, recommendations, and reports.

Arrangement

Most of this collection is arranged topically and then chronologically, with some folder-level exceptions.
