Scope and Contents
This collection contains over 1,500 postcards originally collected by John L. Plyler, Jr. on his travels. It contains a wide range of images of places from the Unites States and the world. Plyler began the collection in 1943 as a Cub Scout project, and various family members and friends supplemented it. The collection continued to grow under the ownership of Plyler's brothers and, eventually, his sons.
