Organization History

The Professional Homemakers’ Club of Greenville was organized in April 1966. The club’s purpose was to promote home economics as a profession and to provide opportunities for professional home economists and members of other fields to cooperate in the attainment of the well-being of individuals and of families, the improvement of homes, and the preservation of values significant in home life.

Membership was limited to 22 and members were required to have a degree in home economics or a related field.
