The majority of the collection of family papers was passed down to Leonard Todd, Jr., through his mother’s family, the Wevers. Todd thinks his great-great grandmother, Mary (Landrum) Miles, who would have saved the items relating to her husband Lewis Miles, may have started the collection. Then her daughter, America Miles, and son-in-law L.B. Wever added to them. Todd’s grandfather, Frank M. Wever continued to preserve them, as did later Todd’s grandmother, Rosalind Seckinger Wever, and his mother, Lena Miles Wever Todd.
