Rev. Jesse Earle Bailey Papers, 1924-1946

Arrangement

The collection is arranged by types of material.

Scope and Contents

The Rev. Jesse Earle Bailey Papers consist of mainly sermon outlines and notes. These were separated in envelopes and the contents were transferred to folders. Some of the envelopes were separated by subject. There are also composition notebooks with sermon outlines or notes. The collection also includes ten Profession of Faith Cards, a B&W photograph of Rutledge Avenue Baptist Church in Charleston, S.C.; a folder relating to Bailey’s trip to Europe and the Holy Land in the summer of 1939, including a map and official itinerary. Most sermons in this folder relate to or describe the trip.
