The Hattie Finlay Jones Papers consist of correspondence between Jones and Dr. Robert Tucker, Furman University Librarian in 1974 regarding her writings. There is a draft of her manuscript, “The Town Was Theirs: Ten Sketches,” that appears to be expanded to twelve sketches. Jones indicates in her correspondence that her intention is to expand the manuscript to eighteen sketches and provides a list. Some of the additional sketches are handwritten and some are typescript.
The other manuscript in the collection is a memorial to her brother James F. Finlay (1882-1955). There are also clippings and photocopies of her writings from newspapers.
