Acquisition

A majority of this correspondence is stamped with a red “1” which means that it was “found” in the library in 1959. The remaining correspondence written by Botsford is stamped with a red “12” which means it was donated by the Furman Family in 1959. 

Publication Note

Charles D. Mallary used excerpts from letters in this collection in his book, Memoirs of Elder Edmund Botsford, 1832 [son-in-law of John and Sarah Tinkler (Botsford) Evans]. Excerpts of additional letters not in the collection are also noted.
