Processing History Special Collections staff initially processed this collection as part of the Furman Family Papers. The Davis Family correspondence was made into a separate collection by student Abbie Howard in 2011. Students Zoe Novoa, Anna Johnson,  Chandler Parker and Anna Blackman assisted in processing. Julia A. Cowart revised the arrangement and description and created the finding aid in 2022.
