Judith Bainbridge became a Greenville resident in 1976 when she began teaching at Furman University. Bainbridge was director of educational services and an associate professor of English until she retired in 2007 as professor of English emerita. Bainbridge is an historic preservationist who has extensively researched local history. She is the author of eight books on Greenville area history in addition to the book on Greenville Woman’s College.
