Donated in 1997 by Samuel McBride Pringle, descendant of Samuel McBride Pringle’s (1839-1862) brother, William Judson Pringle (1834-1905).

Custodial History

According to a 1995 letter in the collection, the photograph and several letters from 1920s came from Bill Shuler.

• Object ID #08.06.002 Small gold rhombus-shaped pin. In the center is a star surrounded by rays; on one border is the word "Philosophos" in Greek; on the opposite border are three Greek letters, Gamma, Sigma, Pi. “Excelsior” is on the third side with the date "1852" on the fourth.
