This collection is arranged chronologically.

The Irene S. Howard World War II Correspondence consists mainly of correspondence from former students in the form of letters, postcards, and V-mail addressed to “Mother” Howard.  Some letters are thanking Howard for her correspondence with them. Most are giving an update on their status. A 1937 thank you letter is from O.O. Fletcher (former Furman Professor of Philosophy and Social Science) to Irene Howard and Edna Marshbanks, former secretary to Dean Daniel.
