The annual Scholarship Reception, newly termed the Furman Scholarship Reception, is an opportunity to recognize and celebrate Furman faculty and staff who have published scholarly/creative works, received an external grant for $1,000 or more, and/or received a degree during the previous year. The event, hosted by the Office of the Provost and the Furman University Libraries, is held in the Blackwell Atrium of the James B. Duke Library. Guests, including members of the faculty, staff, senior administration, and trustees, mingle with scholars, browse the displays, and listen to several faculty members share about their research or creative works, all while enjoying drinks and hors d'oeuvres.
