Furman Scholarship Reception: 2025 Reception

Overview

On February 14, 2025, the Libraries and the Office of the Provost hosted Furman’s eighth Furman Scholarship Reception. The reception showcased accomplishments from the calendar year 2024, highlighting Furman faculty and staff members who have completed a degree, received a grant from an external funding source totaling more than $1,000, ​and/or published books, book chapters, journal articles, exhibits, recordings, performances, films, or other works. The following speakers provided four-minute presentations on their scholarly or creative works:

  • Liz Bouzarth, Professor of Mathematics, with John Harris and Kevin Hutson
  • Gustavo Coelho, Assistant Professor of Earth, Environmental, and Sustainabilities Science
  • Melinda Menzer, Professor of English
  • Patricia Sasser, Associate Librarian of Music, Furman University Libraries
  • Michael Vick, Instructional Technologist for the Fine Arts
