- Special Collections and ArchivesThis department within the library houses the university archives, the South Carolina Baptist Historical Collection, the South Carolina Poetry Archives, and special collections of music, manuscripts and books. These materials are maintained separately from the general library collections due to their uniqueness, fragility, significance and format.
Digital Collections Center
- Digital Collections CenterThe Digital Collections Center creates and enriches digital collections to be used for instruction and adds value to these collections by linking digital objects with related data, such as to maps, time lines, and related information.

Photocopying, Printing, and Scanning
Nine photocopiers are located within the campus libraries (main floor and lower level of the James B. Duke Library, 24-Hour Study Room, Maxwell Music Library, Sanders Science Library).
Equipment is also available in the James B. Duke Library for viewing, scanning, and printing from microfilm, microfiche, and microprint cards.
Photocopying, printing, and scanning are free to staff members.
