About the Program

The Textbooks on Reserve program is designed to do just that! Simply fill out the form below, and we’ll contact you about next steps.

How It Works

In consultation with Furman instructors, the Libraries may purchase 1 textbook per course and place it on reserve at either the Duke Library, Music Library, or Science Library. The textbooks will be acquired on a first-come, first-served basis as funds permit. Prior to their purchase, textbooks must meet the following eligibility guidelines.

Eligibility Guidelines

  • The textbook must be available for library purchase in a print format or a multi-user electronic format.
  • Textbooks requiring supplemental online access and/or codes will only be purchased if the instructor will not be using that content in their course. Those features are tied to a single user, and cannot be accessed by multiple students.
  • The course must have a minimum enrollment of 15 students prior to the beginning of the term.
  • Textbooks must cost no more than $400.
