The Music Librarian offers research instruction assistance to individuals as well as to entire classes. Research instruction at Furman is aligned with the Association of College and Research Libraries' Framework for Information Literacy and emphasizes the iterative nature of the learning process. Due to the number of sessions requested across the university, faculty are encouraged to schedule classroom sessions prior to the start of the academic term. The Music Librarian is also available to discuss assignment design (using the particular strengths of the Maxwell collection), interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary projects, independent studies, and upper-level research papers.
