New Library Management System: Home

Furman Libraries implemented Find It @ Furman, it's new library management system, on June 1, 2020. This online system is being shared among 55 other college/university libraries in the statewide consortium PASCAL (Partnership Among South Carolina Academic Libraries).

Find It @ Furman provides for searching of print and electronic resources, a more intuitive user experience, and streamlined methods for ordering, describing, and checking out library materials.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does this mean for students, staff, faculty, and other library users?

  • Beginning on June 1, 2020, Find It @ Furman became the system used to discover articles, books, movies, music, manuscripts, and more in a single search.
  • It provides a single, intuitive search interface for print and digital resources.
  • Users can quickly find resources at Furman, as well as those available at 55 other South Carolina university/college libraries.

What happened to the old Library Catalog?

The old Library Catalog was retired on June 30, 2020. That system was over 15 years old and had not been updated by the vendor for over five years. It had reached its end-of-life.

How do I use the new system?

Any link or search form that used to point to the Library Catalog on our website should point to Find It @ Furman, so you simply have to enter a search term or click a link to get there. If you discover a link or search box that does not work, please contact us at the e-mail address below.

You will still be able to search and refine your search (like in the old system), but the results will now be a more robust mix of print and electronic, even allowing you to switch to an articles search within the same website.
