NAICS and SIC
The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) and the Standard Industry Classification (SIC) system are two ways that industries are organized in databases and datasets.

Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) System SearchSIC has largely been replaced by NAICS, but will still be used in some datasets. This page allows the user to search the 1987 version SIC manual by keyword, to access descriptive information for a specified 2,3,4-digit SIC, and to examine the manual structure.
