Furman University is one of the nation's premier undergraduate liberal arts colleges. The Furman University Libraries reflect the university's rigorous academic program and emphasis on engaged learning. The Libraries' faculty and staff are dedicated to the continuing development of excellent library resources and services. As a relatively small institution we emphasize flexibility and teamwork. Library faculty and staff alike have the opportunity to participate in professional development, conference attendance, and committee work. They have a close connection to both students and teaching faculty, with a rich history of collaborative projects.

Both librarians and library staff at Furman have an excellent benefits package, including domestic partner benefits. Librarians have non-tenured faculty status.
