The James B. Duke Library is happy to partner with local high school teachers who want to introduce their students to academic library research.
	- Two weeks notice is required to schedule an instruction session.  Sessions are arranged depending on the availability of librarians. Sessions may not be available during peak times during the term.
- The library can accommodate one class of 22 students or fewer, per visit.  Sessions will be limited to one class from any school per day. 
- The library will provide instruction sessions to high school-aged students.  The materials housed in and accessed via the James B. Duke Library are scholarly and age inappropriate for younger grades.
- In keeping with the ITS Visitor Account policy, each student under the age of 18 is required to complete and have signed by a parent or guardian, the Computer Use Request Form.  Completed forms and a separate class roster must be returned to the library 10 days prior to the session.  Students without signed forms will not be allowed access to electronic resources in the library.
- Teachers must have a specific assignment created and distributed to students prior to their visit to which the instruction librarian will tailor his/her presentation.  Research topics should be shared with the instruction librarian prior to the session.
