New summer library services with curbside pickup
Furman employees may request physical items (books, DVDs, etc.) from the Main, Music, and Science Libraries for pick-up from the Duke Library front patio at prearranged times. This service is available Tuesday-Friday from 11AM-2PM. Those requesting items should allow 2 business days for their requests to be processed.
To use this service please fill out the Libraries' Physical Item Request form. Items that you request will be retrieved from the stacks, checked out to you, labeled with your name, and placed on a cart on the Duke Library patio for your retrieval at the time specified on your form.
To pick up requested items, drive to the gate behind the Duke Library and use the intercom at the gate to request drive through access to the Duke Library Patio. If you want to drive directly to the front of the library, you may wish to consult our map and driving directions before you come to pick up your items.
If you are unable to pick up your items at the designated time, please email Jimmy Quinn.
Items will be due six months after checkout. If you wish to return your items, you can place them in the book drop on the Duke Library front porch.
Please note that those coming to campus to retrieve books must follow Furman's established facilities access protocol.
From the PAC Circle take Ray Roberts Road. Turn right at the T-stop to go around SoHo Circle. Take the access road to the right, before you get to Trone. Stop at the gate, use the intercom at the gate to request drive through access to pick up your library materials. Follow the circle around the Duke Library in a clockwise direction and park in front of the Library Patio (red star in map below) to retrieve your items.
After retrieving your items, continue around the circle and exit through the gate. The gate will raise automatically when your car approaches.
