Locating Books on the Shelf

Read call numbers line by line, first alphabetically, then read the second line as a whole number.

When we don't have your book

What if the book you need is checked out? What if Furman doesn't even own the book you want?  Fear not! The first place to check is PASCAL Delivers.  Just look for the icon in the catalog. The video below will show you how to complete the request.

If PASCAL can't deliver, then use our Interlibrary Loan service. Just complete the online request form through your account. You can always access the forms and create an account from the ILL link on the homepage.


Getting your books

To locate a book at Furman, you will need the location and call number from the library catalog. Also, check the status to make sure the book is available.

Search WorldCat, the global catalog of library collections.  Select books and other items directly from the database and submit an Interlibrary loan request.  Physical items are delivered through the U.S. mail and delivery times vary.
