Film FAQ

Where are the films located in the library?

In addition to streaming films which are accessible through the library catalog, we also have films on DVD which are located in the Multimedia Collection on the first floor of the Main Library, though some may be at the Music Library, the Science Library, or on Reserve.

Can I watch films in the library?

Yes! There are a few places where you can watch DVDs.  In the Main Library, all of the PCs on the ground (lower) level are DVD-compatible. The Media Viewing Room, also located on the lower level next to the ITS help desk, has a DVD/VHS player. Ask at the ITS help desk to be let in. Additionally, there are 3 workstations in the 24-hour study lounge that have DVD players. Headphones are no longer available for check-out from the Circulation Desk, so please bring your own wired headphones. Wireless/Bluetooth is not available on those workstations.

Also, the Music Library has 5 computers with DVD drives, as well as an external DVD drive (compatible with most laptops) that can be checked out. Headphones can be checked-out from their Circulation Desk.

How long can I check out films for?

DVDs circulate for 7 days. Reserve items vary in check-out length.
