Molly Keener is the Scholarly Communication Librarian at Wake Forest University. There, Molly educates and supports students, faculty, and staff on issues related to copyright and author rights, publishing options such as Open Access, and creating electronic collections of their scholarly record.

As the Open Access movement enters its second decade, paths to broader access to scholarship are clear to some, but remain unmarked for many. What exactly do we mean when we say Open Access? Is it publishing? Is it archiving? Journals or books? Should you forge ahead on a sense of adventure, or wait for others to lead the way? And what about cost? Join Molly Keener, Scholarly Communication Librarian, Wake Forest University, for a discussion of the various routes scholars follow to Open Access; how institutions, funding agencies and professional organizations are responding to calls for broader access; and, opportunities for Open Access participation in the liberal arts.
